Week Ending: Ice Cream Deficiency

Fun by the Seine
Another week has crawled past. Not much has happened this week that I find worth mentioning, so I'll keep this part short. The usual, deadlines, work, tests, essays, and so on and so forth. Sigh. Not much to brag about either, other than this wonderful writer's block that's digging my head. I've realized, the more problems a character of mine starts to lose, the more I seem to get them. Does correlation equal causation? (Queue the eerie music, call Mulder and Scully!)
The biggest highlight of my week was finally getting my South American arabica fix. Two packs of medium roast Colombian beans, and I'm happy as can be.

As I'm writing this, I'm sitting in a very busy cafe, in a very crowded mall, and (for some strange reason) find it incredibly relaxing. It may or may not have to do with the fact the I have Miles Davis' God Child blocking out all external stimuli.

Bibliography

I'm still pushing my way through Murakami's Wind/Pinball, so I'm thinking of leaving the frame empty for you to find your own piece of art (I'm very sorry, Tanya, but I had no choice).

Filmography

Ah yes, films.
I've been recommending a lot of classical films(in my definition, anything earlier than the 70s) and thought maybe I should steer a little towards this century....Until TCM started showing a technicolor remake of Byron Haskin's masterpiece of a fantasy film: Captain Sindbad.
The film was made in 1963, so of course one can imagine what incredible special effects and green screening would be there. Not to mention the first rate acting. There is no way you would regret watching this film. I'm not going into it anymore because you really need to see it for yourselves.

Jams

So recently (not sure how recent, since I live under a rock, and usually everything comes out way later than everywhere else) Florence + The Machine released their new album and as a huge fan (Hi Sofi!) I died a little inside. The songs are incredible as usual and Florence's voice manages to echo through your brain and making you feel things no song has ever made you feel before.
Check Out the new official video for Delilah here.

Gastronomy

COFFEE! Sorry folks, but coffee again. For those non-coffee drinkers I've figured out how to make the best of it. Make a very concentrated hot chocolate base (which would act as the espresso) and just top it up with milk. Good practice for latte art too, but I'll go through this later.
Since I'll probably be giving out a bunch of coffee recipes later on, here's a little link from one of my favorite coffee blogs on how to brew great coffee at home. Link right here.
