Welcome to an extremely overdue post! I've been in London on and off since June, so since it's now August (how?!), I thought I would share with you my top 5 things to do in the city this summer. Come rain or shine (preferably the latter...), here are my favorite activities!

Flowers at Liberty... or just flowers in general!

#1 - Nature walks

Coming from the desert, flowers and grass are the most fantastic thing to see. On some of my drives into Oxfordshire these past few weeks, I've squealed over farmlands and nature for hours. It's been quite embarrassing for my friends to watch, but amazing for me! So the past few months (when the weather has been good) have consumed of walks through flower shops, in the parks and wherever I see a patch of green.

Potential house hunting?

#2 - Hypothetical house hunting

Anyone who knows me too well (Sarah) will have received dozens of links to homes in the city. Yes, I just stopped to look at properties in the city... again. Anyways, it's not the same to house hunt in the city online. So, of course, I've been spending as much of my spare time trotting around Chelsea and Belgravia taking photos of gorgeous homes. Here's to hoping there's a property crash! (I'm kidding...)

I promise you that I didn't eat them all

#3 - Eat absolutely everything

Everyone knows of my love for food. Summer in London is my usual time to pig out (summer sugar, anyone?), which is pretty evident from my constant Instagram pictures of Amorino. You truly can't go wrong with fresh food in the city. Whether you're picking up strawberries off the M25 (true story) or hitting a nearby square on a Saturday around brunch, there's the best local food and drink around.

Across from the London Eye!

#4 - Visit all the 'tourist traps'... without getting too close!

A few weeks ago, my friend and I met up in Covent Garden. It was theatre time, so to avoid the rush, we walked around for about 20 minutes. Next thing you know, we've ended up in front of the London Eye! As large of a city that London seems, it is so easy to walk through an area and find all of the 'tourist traps', without necessarily going in. It's amazing to see all of the gorgeous sites around the world, even if you aren't one for tourist attractions and crowds.

Victoria and Albert museum

#5 - Museum hop

Now, I know that museums, much like taking touristy excursions, are an acquired taste. I've been begging some of my friends to go to museums these past few weeks, not to much avail. However, the brilliant thing about London is that one doesn't have to go to the 'traditional' museums, necessarily. For those into science, technology and psychology, there is the Science Museum. For those who love having a lovely snack, there's the V&A's tea room. If you're into abstract psychology, there's the Freud museum, which is the next on my list. It is wonderful to see things out of the ordinary, and a classic 'museum hop' from the Natural History Museum to the V&A is so much fun. Just a few hours and three museums, it's perfect. You could always follow it up with a walk through the park if the weather is nice.
